In the Under 16 Boys Division, Mackie was again victorious while Christian Mark was second, Mathew McKenzie third and Daniel Edghill fourth.

The Ladies’ Division was won by Chelsea Roett, Ametza Nicholls was second, Chelsea Tuach third and Alix Fitzwilliam fourth. Ametza Nicholls took top honours in the Under- 18 Girls Division, while Chelsea Roett was second, Alix Fitzwillian third and Chelsea Tuach fourth.

Providing there is space in the required Division, you may enter after the 7:30 deadline but you must pay a late entry penalty fee of $25 for each Division to be entered. No pre- entries will be accepted by telephone. You may however pre-enter by registering and paying entry fees to Mrs Margot Tuach or Mrs Rachel Roett.

Our next overseas event is the Pan American Surfing Games which will take place in Chile from November 3rd to 12th . The team comprises 4 Open surfers, 4 Juniors, 2 Ladies, 2 Longboarders, 2 Male Bodyboarders, 1 female Bodyboarder and Management. As stated in an earlier Newsletter, the Team will be selected after the 5th and final SOTY event which is also our National Championships sponsored by Lazy Days. The BSA Executive Committee has decided to bring forward the date of this event to September 15th and 16th to give us more time to train the Team.

Plans are well underway for the ASP/ALAS Reef Classic scheduled for the week-end of November 16 – 18 so mark your Calendars as you won’t want to miss what promises to be our biggest and best event. The Information Package and Registration forms have been posted on our web-site www.bsasurf.net – so be sure and register before November 3rd since any entries after this date will be subject to availability of space. There is space for 96 entries in the Open Men’s Division, 12 entries in the Ladies Division (the Top 4 ranked local ladies, 2 wildcards and 6 overseas entries) and 8 in the Longboard Divison (4 local; 4 overseas).

In terms of fund-raising, we are planning an end-of-summer bash at the Woodpeckers and a Halloween Party on October 13th. We will keep you posted as further details emerge.

See you at Sand Bank for an exciting event as surfers vie for a place on our National Team!
